Located a few minutes from Playa del Carmen, this property is at the top of the top 5 best quality / price and one of the best hotels for holidays for couples report.
This record was compiled from 16,000 comments published by Canadian consumers who stayed at sun destinations between January 1 and May 31, 2010.
Not surprisingly, the properties of the Riviera Maya occupy a commanding presence in all categories in this classification. Two others from the same region, the Dreams Riviera Cancun and Valentin Imperial, the Iberostar Grand Paraiso tailgating in the "best value for money."
The Valentin Imperial Riviera Dreams and occupy second and third place in the category "best food", including another hotel in the chain Dreams - Dreams Puerto Vallarta - the big winner.
Best Beach
The Riviera Maya is still out with the Catalonia Playa Maroma and Akumal Beach Resort, who are ranked first and third rows of the properties with the best beach. Iberostar Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, came second, while the Royal Hideaway Cayo Ensenachos and the Barcelo Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba, completed the top five in this category.
Another hotel popular with Quebecers, the Paradisus Rio de Oro, located in the Cuban resort of Guardalavaca, also did well with a fourth place in the "restoration" and fifth for "holiday for couples."
Finally, it is a hotel in St. Lucia, Coconut Bay, which tops the list of the best properties for family holidays.
Comments on the Internet
Site comments Monarc.ca was launched in September 2009 by Softvoyage, a Montreal company that markets the booking engine used by the majority of wholesalers and Canadian travel agencies. Only consumers who purchased travel online from specialist tour operators in sun destinations (and Las Vegas) are invited to make comments and give a rating (from one to five butterflies).
"An evaluation form them automatically emailed two days after their return travel and focuses only on the hotel where they stayed, explains Fabrice Bozon responsible Monarc.ca .
This approach ensures the integrity of the process. Unlike what happens with other review sites, hoteliers can not ask their friends to write positive comments. "
Since its launch in September 2009, customers of 350 travel agencies have issued nearly 22,000 comments on the site. Just over one-third are from Quebec and the rest of English Canada. A record is on the site's home page, but it is constantly changing, given the evidence from evaluations recorded during the day.
Site managers have made a compilation of the results of the last five months to establish the top 5 discussed here.

In Morocco, you can explore the beautiful Sahara desert by camel, camping under the stars with the Berber tribes, chasing bargains in the heated atmosphere of the souks, or surf on some of the most beautiful beaches of Africa.
Discover the 6 most beautiful cities to visit during your tour to Morocco, and the best hotels to reside and excellent value for money ... Word of traveler, we have selected our favorite establishments throughout Morocco!

Rabat

The capital of Morocco and the royal family is an airy and very clean city. This is great if you want to put a little green and browse the wide avenues lined with trees, away from the usual bustle of big cities. The Royal Palace and Mosque are the major attractions not to be missed, built in the finest tradition of Islamic architecture.
Another landmark, the Hassan Tower, a beautiful intricately carved built in 1195 and surrounded by peak towers 44 meters high (the site contains the tombs of King Mohammed V and his son) minaret.
For those seeking peace, go in the almost secret and hidden Andalusian garden, located at the entrance to the Kasbah Udayas (do not listen to the "guides" who will tell you that some of the access doors are closed day, continue your way ...). Moroccan women take refuge there to escape the heat and enjoy the lush gardens on several levels, a true paradise.
Finally, for a ride a bit surreal, wander through the ruins scattered with fruit trees of the ancient Roman city Sala Colonia and Merinid Chellah necropolis . Moroccans say this is the most romantic site flap ... Notice to love!

Marrakech

The city of Marrakech will all your senses in turmoil, especially if you are staying at a hotel in the central square of Jemaa el Fna.
Do not miss this city, the beautiful minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque, the El Badi Palace (built in the 16th century and today is gradually transformed into ruins, but still very beautiful and impressive) or the Madrasa Ben Youssef, a Koranic school in the beautiful architecture that was also built in the 16th century.
Otherwise, you can not leave Marrakech without visiting one of its famous souks, but beware, you must haggle (or buy at full price, it's the rule!). Night, popular markets, are often composed of different Moroccan food stalls: the ideal place for a local feast!
Good to know about Jemaa el Fna, you will find many buildings with restaurants, bars and cafes with panoramic terraces. Sit back, enjoy it for a cup of tea while admiring the Atlas and look down the crowd, snake charmers and acrobats that offer exotic and entertaining show.
Where to stay: If you are looking for a hotel in Marrakech , know that the beautiful Riad Khabia won one of three Excellence HostelBookers 2012 Best Establishment price! Located in the historic Medina, this property offers private rooms and suites with private terraces. Personally, we love the beautiful pool, nice traditional patio and terrace with panoramic where you can taste the mint tea or breakfast free view. Frankly, what more? Other establishments popular with travelers, the Dar Houdou and Riad Attouyour have meanwhile won the award for Best Atmosphere and Best Staff respectively.

Essaouira

Essaouira is a lovely little harbor town lined with beaches. The atmosphere has always been enough "hippie-bohemian", relaxed and very popular with backpackers and a few regulars such brand Jimi Hendrix went there regularly in the past.
Most tourists come from Marrakech is a 3 hour bus ride, and then go to Agadir which is further south on the coast, after Essaouira. Between Agadir and Essaouira, you will find some of the finest surfing beaches across the country: Sidi Kaouki and Safi.
For those who love music, every year in June takes place the Gnaoua World Music Festival, which attracts thousands of people from around the world.
On the main beach, it is possible to make horse or camel, as well as driving quads. All along there are many small bars and restaurants serving fish and fresh seafood, caught the same day, and know that the food served in Essaouira has a reputation of being the best in the country (especially tagines, yum).

Agadir

You read it right before, Agadir is not far from Essaouira, further south on the coast. The atmosphere is totally different: Agadir is more "tourist" and less "authentic", but is still worth a visit, especially for those who love the beach (though not recommended for those fleeing the touristy places ...)!
Once in Agadir, the main "attraction" is the beautiful sandy beach that awaits you, and of course surfing. If staying in a hotel by the sea, most of them have private beaches reserved for their clients.
The city is modern and airy as it was completely rebuilt in 1960 after an earthquake. Many shops and restaurants are close to the beach. Kasbah which is located on a beautiful hill is the only historic building in town, and it is also possible to visit the port, especially if you want to eat fish and seafood for cheap ...
Where to stay: our good place to Agadir Hotel Sindibad , voted Best Hotel Cheap under the Excellence Award 2012 HostelBookers We fully endorse the excellent quality / price ratio: private rooms from 13 50 € per night per person, perfect cleanliness, personal enough for customers (it is really fun to be treated like royalty!) AND the must: a swimming pool and solarium on the roof, which is benefits without limit. Splendid!

Fez

Fez was long the capital of Morocco, Rabat before he takes his place, and is also part of the list of four ancient imperial cities of Morocco to Marrakech, Rabat and Meknes.
You can visit the tanneries, very well known in Morocco and really impressive. The Medina of Fez is the largest and oldest in the country: its small streets, hawkers and the buzz of the place are a unique experience! Do not be afraid to haggle, especially if you go off-season (fewer tourists, sellers are more willing to negotiate), it is possible to make real business. And as in any souk, you seem less interested in an item, the more likely you'll get a discount ...
Where to stay: Fez, two institutions have won the Excellence Award in 2012 for Best HostelBookers Establishment! The first of these is the Dar Hafsa in Fes, housed in a beautiful traditional Moroccan house of the 19th century. We love the rooftop terrace that offers breathtaking views of the Medina and the surrounding mountains. The other property is the crowned Riad Verus , one of our favorites, which organizes many activities such as traditional Moroccan henna tattoos, sessions in the steam room, Berber massage and Moroccan cooking classes ... Perfect for your pleasure ! The setting is gorgeous, and customers love to enjoy the panoramic terrace at dusk.

Chefchaouen

Located in the foothills of the Rif, Chefchaouen has a particularly relaxed atmosphere. All buildings in the center are painted in a beautiful and relaxing shade of pale / lavender, giving an atmosphere that is very zen and a little surreal to the city ...
The city is also known for the production of leather, which is why many shops offer beautiful bags, shoes and leather sandals at an affordable price.
Do not forget to visit the small abandoned church which is at the top of the hill and from there, admire the stunning views of the city.
Good to know: If you are looking for a hotel in Marrakech , Agadir, Fez and other Moroccan cities, and you have a small budget, know that our Excellence Awards 2012 were awarded numerous Moroccan institutions for their work and exceptional hospitality. These institutions were elected by HostelBookers customers who have resided there in 2012, it is awards completely impartial manner, to guide you to the best hotel establishments! To each his Eurovelo!

Not just sports and sweat, Eurovelo also allows the discovery of many UNESCO sites, beautiful European cities, impressive landscapes, mountain peaks and even the Mediterranean coast through the Scandinavian plains.
The shorter routes EuroVelo 15 - the Rhine route (1320 km) can be achieved over time summer vacation a month and allows you to cross four countries (France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland). How EuroVelo?

The project is coordinated by the European Cyclists' Federation (SCF) in Brussels. The Eurovélo team coordinates the network, passing information to the public, promotes activities with policy makers (national and European) and works well, in general, the development of the network. National coordinators are in charge of the field work and management at national level.
On the ground, the roads are all set (or current signal) by EuroVelo panels, making it easy circulation. Similarly, Euro Velo pass up on roads for cyclists or poor circulation and smooth skin (83% of total roads). Finally, the work done by the Centers for Coordination and National Coordinators allows cyclists to find lots of information online, including services tailored to cyclists or the site Eurovelo.
For 2014, two new projects were launched! They concern EuroVelo 8 "The Mediterranean Route" and EuroVelo 13 "Route of the Iron Curtain" (the northern part only).
So a promising network is booming!

Ádám Bodor Interview with Director of the Euro Velo Department, Tourism Cyclable & Regional Policy at ECF.

At present there are very advanced course already?
"Yes, we have some roads that are highly developed. Euro Velo 6, along the Loire then along the Danube between Austria and Serbia is very nice to go, especially for its high level of development. This is also the case for the whole Euro Velo 15 road that follows the Rhine from Switzerland to the Netherlands through Alsace in France and West Germany. EuroVelo 12, along the shores of the North Sea is also very developed in all countries in which the road passes. "
Eurovelo is it primarily a tourism project or a project bike?
"The two are really inseparable. Everything is provided for travelers to enjoy riding on our roads but also so they can visit the most beautiful and interesting places Europe: UNESCO sites in cities, parks, coastlines, mountains, small villages of character ... And all this bike! "
Netherlands
EuroVelo 15: Holland (Euregio Rhein-Waal, Project Booting, P. Gawandtka)
Is there an audience for cycling?
"Yes of course! It's not necessarily about people leaving the starting point of a road to stop at the end point. But many people try a section for a few weeks while on vacation or borrow them regularly as they pass nearby. Then one day, some want to go further and decide to make a long-distance bike trip. Moreover, we are often in contact with some of them and try to relay their experiences on our sites and social networks. "
What (s) route (s) would you recommend then?
"All of them! It really depends on what everyone is looking for, but there really is something for everyone. If you want to bike along sunny beaches, there is no better qu'EuroVelo 8 (Mediterranean Route)! If you prefer the cliffs, it will EuroVelo 1 of the Atlantic, Route of the Iron Curtain if you want to drive in rural areas or when EuroVelo Euro Velo 6 or 15 if you prefer to follow rivers (the Loire and the Danube or the Rhine). "
After working on the development of all these roads, do you have the time to use them sometimes?
"Yes, I always try to find time after our meetings across Europe to test certain sections of the roads, but inevitably, every time, it's not enough! "
What is the project or the road you are most proud of?
"It's pretty hard to choose, we do so many different things in so many countries. If I had to pick one thing, it would be all the cycling bridges we have opened between different countries. It happened to us several times, on several tracks, and I must say that every time it's something very symbolic and very moving. It pretty much reflects the spirit EuroVelo elsewhere. "
Canals in Holland (Euregio Rhein-Waal, Project Booting, P. Gawandtka)
EuroVelo 15: Canals in Holland (Euregio Rhein-Waal, Project Booting, P. Gawandtka)
What are the next challenges for Euro Velo in coming years?
"Our number one goal is the full completion of the network for 2020 This is to provide an opportunity for cyclists to use a perfectly complete network. This involves physical work for safer and more pleasant routes. For example, we want to ensure that cyclists are no longer forced to use busy roads or roads to user coating. The work also focuses on the development of different tools for pleasant trips like installing an easily recognizable signage, on-line information about the roads themselves or the services offered along those -Ci. Solidarity trip to Peru, Bolivia and Chile: the "Andean Trilogy" of Viventura

It is the purpose of Viventura: offer stays in South America conducive to meeting local and supporting, through its ViSocial foundation for social projects focusing on education communities, health, environment and development.
viventura
These South American holidays, the Andean Trilogy is a circuit which, as its name suggests, has the distinction of covering three Andean countries mythical: Peru, Bolivia and Chile. There is also the "historic" Viventura circuit, one of the earliest proposed by the agency. True to the philosophy of travel Viventura, this circuit is a mix of discovery of the "must do" experiences and encounters and off the beaten path ...
Jonathan Dehouck of Viventura office of Peru, and Mathilde Arnod, based in La Paz (and just to participate in this tour, it's good), tell us a little more about this "Andean Trilogy" ...

The visit of the "classics". ...

Of the 3 weeks' duration of stay, Peru holds a prominent place, but the idea from the start was to enjoy closeness with Bolivia and Chile, to provide an overview of these two destinations for travelers: Visiting La Paz, Bolivian capital that can not be ignored: the amazing salt desert of Uyuni, the valleys of the Moon and Death, Santiago ... "This brief overview of Bolivia and Chile gives the opportunity to experience the cultural differences between the three countries, "says Mathilde. Probably a good way to give the urge travelers to discover return both destinations in a little more depth.

The Peruvian side circuit start of the vacation, going about it by the attractions of the destination: the capital Lima, of course, the Ballestas Islands and remarkable wildlife oasis Huacachina, the mysterious lines of Nazca, Arequipa, the "White City", the Colca Canyon and condors, the mythical Cusco, Machu Picchu fabulous, Lake Titicaca ...
As with all of its circuits, Viventura always favors small family hotels to host: "We choose to smaller institutions that are participating in the local economy, while ensuring the cleanliness and quality of the bedding, "says Jonathan. "Side guides a person oversees all recruitment and training by destination: our guides are either French settled for many years in the country, local guides speaking perfect"

Engaged in meetings ... and small special moments

A true moment of encounter and exchange awaits travelers in the discovery of Lake Titicaca: they will stay on the peninsula Capachica, located 3800 meters above sea level, by any of the three peasant communities (Hilata , Llachon Santa Maria), supported by the foundation ViSocial and living culture of potatoes (Peru is THE land of potatoes, with hundreds of different varieties), Fisheries and Livestock trout. Accommodation (individual) is homestay with sharing meals at the head of the community, visit the village and activities (making demonstration of natural soaps, small celebration in traditional clothes ...) all at a pace that used to soak up the lifestyle of these communities.

In Arequipa, the cooking class, taught by a chef cooking school in the city, will allow travelers to try their hand at making Peruvian specialties: Rocoto Relleno (stuffed peppers), Lomo Saltado (stir-fried beef) or Rellena still Causa (mashed stuffed) ... before, of course, to go to their tasting! "These are times very friendly, like the Pisco Sour evening, during which we learn to make the famous Peruvian cocktail made with Pisco" . and everyone shares his achievements then - Mathilde "Everyone puts his hand to the dough, dose according to taste (! spicy for flat or +) says. "

Next social engagement, residence permits to visit one of the projects supported in the city of Arequipa school San Juan Apostol, which receives 630 children and why ViSocial Foundation funded the construction of 8 rooms classes, helps finance the meal and monitoring children's health; the quarry Parcha, employing forty workers, subject to significant risks, for which the foundation is implementing protective actions and training. "These visits optional according to the travelers want, are always appreciated," explains Mathilde. "People have lots of questions, they are interested in the project, and are happy to actually see that a part of their stay is for meaningful projects which directly benefit the local population."
This year, it is even possible to sponsor a local initiative, bypassing the "stay" box. But, of course, the ideal is to be able to go there during a stay which joins the Andean solidarity with pleasure!

Beyond the crowded beaches punctuated tall buildings at attention crazy ready to welcome the tourist crowds, the coast of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur has developed other more conducive to meeting proposals with the hosts and products premises. Between land and sea, you will discover number of regional parks and natural areas where we practice a more responsible tourism that respects the environment and the people who run it, parks and natural sites which reflect the commitment of all a region to commit to a more balanced tourism, diffuse, to highlight the natural and landscape assets beyond the only beachfront.

paca coast
Beyond the beaches and crowds

Beyond the beaches and crowds, so many natural areas remain to be discovered along the coastline PACA. The most famous is undoubtedly the Camargue Regional Nature Park and the National Parks of Port-Cros and Creeks, dubbed "National Park" in 2012 for the latter (the tenth in France) as it has a unique biodiversity. However, one must also add the number of sites managed by the Coastal Conservancy, often genuine eco-tourism treasures. Thus, at the foot of the Massif des Maures, facing the Islands of Hyères, in the Var, Domaine du Rayol is a protected natural area of 20 hectares where the landscape architect Gilles Clément designed the Mediterranean Gardens, an invitation to travel through Mediterranean landscapes of the world and more arid landscapes and subtropical climates. Another idea, discover the Natural reserve of the Marais Vigueirat major site for the conservation of waterbirds in Europe. Nearly 300 species (more than 60 / avifauna) were identified including nine species of herons in Europe, a unique natural populations of greylag goose and a large colony of bee-eaters. The flora is also outstanding, with nearly 891 species identified, some very rare, such as salsify with small flowers, standing in the Red Book of endangered species France. Finally, mention may be made Salins d'Hyères, composed of Old Saline and Saline Pesquiers where many naturalists are organized tours.

Learning to discover what is behind the sea and its surroundings ...

Damage to stay glued to your towel for hours when you could barter against sunburn amazing discoveries. Under the sun, the beach, of course, but under the waves? Do you know that many options are available to find out what is happening in the Mediterranean. This can take the form of trails submarines such as those proposed in the Naturoscope Pole Pradet the environment or sea Marseille Pole. One can also try these marine trails Rayol Estate or the Cape Blue Eagle which organizes fishing trips 2:30 to discover the shallow shoreline with an eco-guide Sea Workshop. the workshop also offers "Meet a fisherman" and "Discovery of a port and site under construction" in partnership with other actors such Pescatourisme or Rendezvouscheznous.com.

And respect ...

Practice, but also preserve. Tools have been developed for more than ten years to educate visitors about the fragile coastal and marine environments. Following the 2nd Regional Meetings of the Sea in 2001, the region has created the sea grid. Latter brings together different types of actors (associations, management structures of the coastal area that make education the marine environment and coast, representatives of institutions, the scientific community, professional watersports and tourism) who wanted to pool their skills and resources to devote himself to the best of educational activities on the environment. The goal is to change behavior and improve the process of preserving coastal and marine environment. Various actions have been put in place to inform and educate the public with numbers of educational tools (DVD, traveling exhibits, observation kit, books, etc.) and a major campaign Ecogestes Mediterranean. Where are encouraged, for example, use vegetable soaps, to sort waste in the boats, looking for sandy areas to anchor, to use the toilet only sailors away from swimming areas at observe animals without touching or disturbing and many other common sense advice, always important to remind travelers of passage.
Try the eco-friendly accommodations

@ G.Clastres

But no, an eco-friendly accommodation is not necessarily more expensive, less glamorous, more "guilt." It just requires a little more attention to and especially at the time of booking, to do some more targeted research. To do this, professionals PACA also wanted help in creating a portal - ecotourismepaca.fr (below) - full of good "responsible" addresses! Camping in the holiday village, passing through the hotel or rental, lodging numbers are highlighted and presented, like camping Lou Pantaï Pradet first campsite in the region to be awarded the European Ecolabel and labeled "green Key". This is also the case of the Port Pothuan camping in Hyeres, doubly labeled Green Key (2008) and European Ecolabel (2012). One could also mention the hotel Epi-Plage on the famous Pampelonne beach in Ramatuelle who for twenty years has always been committed to preserving the planet (sorting, energy saving, Green Key certification, etc.) or the Residence Lou Castellet, overlooking the Massif de l'Esterel, facing the Mediterranean, labeled Village Owl Nature. 4 Climb a mountain climate issue new tourism Isle of France

Tourism is both a major emitter of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) and a greedy user of energy of all kinds. In Isle of France, we are aware that long-term predictions on climate change, increased passenger numbers and increased energy needs will strongly impact the regional tourism sector. Finally prepare for the future and anticipate a hard thing scenarios when the requirements Factor 4 seem increasingly illusory, the Regional Tourism Committee (CRT) presented a study to highlight its efforts and choice to find a middle way. The latter exposed Tuesday, July 8 at a Regional Day "Tourism and Climate", aims to provide practical and reasonable solutions to ensure the sustainability and quality of a highly dependent tourism sector, which represents 10% of GDP region and some 500,000 jobs.
Tourism and climate, the infernal couple

Among the many areas heavily dependent on climate, tourism is certainly the most iconic. Who has not watched the weather the day of departure at the weekend, even change his plans at the last moment to adjust its choice to an often fickle sky. However, beyond this simple equation, but not without consequences of any kind, the climate has also become a gateway to wonder about tomorrow's tourism door. For who says tourism, we mean a transport local travel, accommodation, much CO2-intensive activities that require us to rethink our ways of being and acting. On the single issue of carbon for example, when we know that the French produce 9 Teq CO2 each year, we understand how important it is to think about a break with our habits. However, climate scenarios envisage an increase of 6 ° by 2080 the climate in Ile-de-France. In addition, a prospective study of CRT was that the tourist appeal of Green Gables-de-France can double between 2011 and 2050, the number of trips / R will increase from 35 million to 70 million. One can imagine what that means in energetic expenditures, transportation congestion ... When we know that we intimate Factor 4 divide by 4 our greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, they are currently in Ile-de-France (IDF) 17.5 MteqC02 / year, they will be 27 MT if nothing is done by 2050, we understand that the issue is weight, since it involves reducing our emissions by 83% next to foresight. It is urgent to think of solutions!
Appraisal: 17500000 tecCO2 / year of total GHG emissions of 3.6 million revolutions of the earth by car.

Appraisal: 17500000 tecCO2 / year of total GHG emissions of 3.6 million revolutions of the earth by car.
A study to understand and anticipate

Aware of climate and energy challenges and eager to anticipate the future, the CRT Ile-de-France, at the request of the Regional Council and in conjunction with the Regional Plan for Climate and Development Strategy of Tourism and Recreation commissioned a study to develop a tourism strategy adapted to the needs and constraints of a sector heavily dependent on climate. For this, the CRT achieved a carbon footprint of the entire tourism chain, taking full account the transport sector, either to come and go to (attractive tourism) to go toward elsewhere (tourism emissive Parisians') but also local transport, the accommodation, restaurants, tourist attractions and activities, etc. Objective: To act with tourism professionals, draw their attention to GHGs without guilt and then support them in their energy transition.
Edifying observations

First observation edifying. GHG emissions related to tourism in IDF equivalent to 17.5 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year, one third of the annual emissions of Ile-de-France, 3.6 million rounds of the earth by car. Trying to offset these emissions would be up to a forest that absorbs 5 million hectares, a forest that would be between four to five times the size of the IDF. Another observation edifying, these 17.5 million tons CO2 equivalent over 90% should be allocated to the transport sector alone. This is explained in part by the heavy weight of the air in the region (the two largest airports in France) and the fact that we are talking about urban tourism. This is the specificity of this carbon footprint IDF, also with a few facts to consider: the aircraft is used for 22% of trips but accounts for 75% of emissions related to transport A / R of tourists and Parisians. Short and medium haul flights are much less efficient (less full, more consumers CO2). We know that there exists an alternative process. Another interesting information to ponder: report kilometer and passenger, emissions from a long flight and a drive are comparable, it is the distance that plays primarily (180geqCO2 / year).

Tourism and Climate Symposium
The challenges ahead

How to deal with a heavy footprint? What issues? Clearly, the Arian is here pointed as alone represents the vast majority of emissions. Conventional solutions are known: improved engines, always use more biofuels, working on a more efficient driving (driving), pay attention to the loading rate of aircraft, perform better, take more direct routes, speed up implementation of technological breakthroughs, etc. Unfortunately, much remains to be done and the IDF Region seems to have little effect in the face of giants like ADP (Aéroports de Paris). Other lever, travelers, change our habits: travel less far, less often, stay longer on site, favor the train when possible. Again, the long-term forecasts show that it is exactly the opposite trend is emerging. Basically, we know what is good for the planet and for the climate but consistently runs against the grain. However, beyond the air, the other players are not forgotten. Hoteliers, restaurateurs and major recreational amenities account for 10% of emissions and there, if the slogan is simple, "cut, cut, and still reduce energy consumption," and use renewable energy where possible, there is still a long way to go ...
The median path chosen by the Ile de France

Aware that all these findings are likely to impact heavily tourism, the IDF region reflected in an accessible scenario that would act now to reduce the carbon footprint of the sector while improving performance for economic territory. The economic stakes are high and the inevitable anticipation when we know, for example, it will take 32,000 rooms available in 2020 when only 22,000 are today. You can imagine what that means for the energy requirements and other releases ... Not to mention the importance of maintaining and improving especially (latest Tourism Conference !!) the quality of care, supply, etc. . An intermediate scenario has been identified, which involves all stakeholders in the sector, presented in three main areas, all having to cut carbon emissions goal. The first axis is to reduce the arrivals area IDF and encourage travelers to stay longer on site. It would generate by itself a reduction of 4 MteqC02. The second axis tends to accelerate efforts energy performance of air transport (biofuels, fleet renewal, rolling, etc.). The gain would be 3.5 MtCO2e. The third and last area is to change the behavior of Parisians leaving the IDF region (less weekend by plane, stays less often, longer, etc.) and for 2 MtCO2e. All allow an intermediate economy of 15.7 MtCO2e in 2050, and thus balance economic interests and climate ... Finally, local actors will be involved in all these economies, like the Parisian hosts that accompanies CRT and will start working for environmental labeling with EVEA Tourism, like as different actions implemented by the RTA: a resource center, available since 2013, a waste prevention strategy being developed with the Regional Council, personalized support for all industry players. Thus, many are those, like Franck Laval (Solar Hotel), which began to mobilize: "I realized that our actions could be summed up in one word: Reduced! Reduce consumption of water, energy waste. "The hotel invites guests to get involved with a very strong label. Other actors, such as David Rouxel (Good Spot) militate for local tourism: go less far and discover the unknown treasures that lie in the corner of our street, or Christophe Leveque, Director of Fleet Taxis G7 to by strengthening the Green park cab and the introduction of electric vehicles.
And tomorrow?

What to do for the climate, to be less dependent on energy, less pollution? What to do when you know that 25% of total Air France business is energy expenditure? What to do when you see that nationally, energy accounts for 10% of spending and it does not stop growing (nearly 5% per year in recent years)? What to do when this same energy is becoming an essential part of the turnover of numbers of companies, it will gradually eroding the margins of a hotel industry that does not need that. The solutions implemented by the IDF region will be sufficient? Do not we also appeal to the legislature? Can we consider GHG accounting? What about a "Green Taxing" currently being considered to Air France and Aéroports de Paris (ADP)? According to Gerard Feldzer, president of CRT should be encouraged ADP to tax depending on the age of the aircraft and what they consume per passenger, and prohibit the transport of fuel and over-consumption that leads exhausting nature. And what about our behavior? Will we abandon the aircraft for medium-haul? A willfully and systematically offset all of our carbon emissions? Are we ready to go less often? How to motivate people? Carrot or stick? Much remains to be done at all levels. That day, in the Chamber of the Regional Council of Ile-de-France, there also were some itching powder, as Jean-Claude Marcus, (GAIA - Management Improvements and Alternative Engineering), although often valuable, showing that solutions exist, lines of progression, it takes just know see them, will. And to quote ADP and the State could have chosen anaerobic digestion solution for the recovery of organic waste and have preferred the construction of a wood boiler causing the forest clearcuts in Chambery, a deforestation of 40 million tons / year although distressing given that it is precisely the opposite that you want ... to propose also to better recycle the waste heat for hotel, gray water. There is so much to do. And so much to discuss. And the latest initiatives aimed precisely at avoiding CRT guilt to find solutions together. So I want to conclude on a positive note and quote Reka Csepeli responsible Sustainability CRT, citing Antoine Saint-Exupery: "The important thing is not to predict the future, but to make it possible. "
